George Lindenfeld, PhD
Dr. George Lindenfeld is a Diplomate in Clinical Psychology awarded by the American Board of Professional Psychology. George served in the Navy Seabees prior to attaining his doctorate in Child and Developmental Psychology at Utah State University in 1971. He served as a Resident in Medical Psychology at the University of Oregon Medical School in Portland, Oregon and his career as a clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist spans a 45 year time period. George has been certified in EEG Biofeedback and Neurofeedback by the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America as well as by the Academy of Certified Neurotherapists.
It has been said, ‘time heals all wounds.’ I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone.

George shares the history of his childhood and how it was impacted by several traumatic experiences.
A Crucial Early Mistake
George said that early on in his career he moved into working in the area of administration, for example, helping to manage and run community clinics. Getting away from clinical experience was the worst choice I could have ever made.
When I see the look in someone’s eyes when this magical transformation takes place, itt’s astounding to me. It’s like the person has found themselves.
- Keep an open mind. What you’ve learned in school is good stuff, but keep an eye out for the new changes in what we’re learning about how the brain reacts to and is impacted by trauma.
